How You Can Help

We need you.

Ways to help!

Cash, Cheque, Credit Card

Securities, Stocks, Shares

Personal Property

Your tax deductible donation to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation will greatly assist your local hospital and health care service providers in delivering the best care possible in your community. Simply mail your charitable gift to any of our Foundation offices or click on the Donate Now button to make an online donation today.

We also accept gifts of publicly traded securities, stocks or shares. Contact your financial advisor to discuss the tax advantages of making this type of charitable gift.

A gift of personal property to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation such as jewelery, antiques, furniture or art may have to be accompanied by a third party appraisal of its current market value. In most cases your gift would be sold and the proceeds used to improve patient care. If this would not be consistent with your wishes, we would be pleased to discuss other options.

Become a Partner

Health care is one thing we all have in common. Each one of us will require it at one time or another. When we do, we rely on receiving the best health care possible. We want to ensure the delivery of first rate services for ourselves, our families and our communities.

As Canadians, we’ve long held our health care system in high esteem. That system faces increased demands brought on largely by a rapidly growing population and a tax base stretched to the limit. No longer can we assume that the quality health care that we’ve come to depend on will be available when we need it.

Ensuring that the level of care that we’ve depended on in the past rises to meet the needs of the future requires your help. Become a partner with us and make a difference!

So Many Ways to Help

Gifts Through United Way and other Employee Campaigns

If your employer participates in the United Way or other employee campaigns, you can support health care in your community by designating the gift to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation on your pledge card. Please contact us for details.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

With a charitable remainder trust you designate an amount that is then used to create a trust fund. The net income generated by this fund is paid to you or your beneficiary. The principal of the trust reverts to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation upon the trust’s termination.

Annuities

An annuity gift directs the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation to use your contribution to purchase an annuity from an insurance company that will pay regular fixed amounts to you as the donor. The residue will revert to the Foundation when you no longer need the fixed annual payments.

Life Insurance

The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation can either be named the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, or ownership of a policy may be transferred to the Foundation. Premiums paid by you for the policy may be eligible for tax credits.

Honour Someone Special with an In Memoriam Gift

In Memoriam
Helping to improve health care by making a gift to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation in memory of a loved one is a beautiful way to pay tribute to the importance of that person in your life. An acknowledgement of your gift will be sent to their family. These gifts, too, are tax deductible.

In Honourarium
You can also make a gift in honour of someone special and we will let them know of your kind gesture.

Plan for the Future with a Legacy Gift

Legacy giving is a wonderful way to support the things that you care about the most, now and after you’re gone.

Creating a legacy gift with the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation provides vital funding for state-of-the-art equipment, advanced health care programs, capital projects, patient comfort items and education for medical staff, patients and families for generations to come. The Foundation raises funds and manages gifts responsibly on behalf of the hospitals, residential facilities, and programs it supports ensuring that donors’ wishes are fully realized.

Our legal name is Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation. Our Charitable Business Number is 87115 6725 RR0001

After providing for your loved ones, a gift in your Will enables you to:

Make a donation to the Hospital without affecting your current standard of living

• Eliminate significant taxes payable by your estate in the year of death

You can:

Identify a specific amount, or make a “residual bequest” where the Foundation receives the remainder of the estate after you have provided for your loved ones

• Identify a specific area within the Hospital to benefit from your gift, or allow the Foundation to use your gift for the Hospital’s greatest need

You may also choose to make a Legacy gift to any of the Residential Care facilities that we support in your community. Remembering your hospital in your Will by leaving a gift to the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation is a legacy that will touch many lives for years to come.

"It's not how much we give, but how much love we put in to giving."
